How to make a pedestalrun

• Preparations:
  • Switch off the beam
  • Switch off all pulsers
  • Switch off the laser
  • Disconnect the batteries from the HODO crate
  • Switch off all triggers
  • Shutdown the whole acquisition
  • Clear the AEB-setup-segment with the command aeb_clear on the E7
• Start the pedestalrun with the command aeb_pedestal on the E7. This will take around 15 minutes!
• When this is done copy latest pedestal and gain files to the calibration directory on the ALPHA with the following commands given on the ALPHA.

    ftp ebna49
       login: aladin
       password: aladin
    lcd  doc_s117:[fastbus]              !  set local working directory
    cd test
    ls ped*.dat                          !  check pedestal files  
    get ped_twal_yymmddhhmm.dat          !  copy lastest file ... 
    get ped_hodo_yymmddhhmm.dat
    ls gain*.dat                         !  check gain files      
    get gain_twal_yymmddhhmm.dat         !  copy lastest files ...
    get gain_hodo_yymmddhhmm.dat
    exit
  

• Get everthing back in shape:
  • Switch on all triggers
  • Reconnect the batteries from the HODO crate
  • Switch on the laser
  • Switch on all pulsers
  • Start the whole acquisition
• Check the validity of the new pedestals with soa_plot pedmon.
• Plot the difference between new and old pedestal and variance values with fbpedestal_plotdif.kumac for TWAL and HODO crate.
