Using the GOOSY Transport Manager with the S117 DAQ System

1. Start SBS as usual, than
        enable tcp

2. Start GOOSY environment.
     -- only on VSCN (because it works only on VAX's and
                               this is the only with a DLT drive...)
     -- only with GOOSY cabable account (Not a GENUSER account...
                                         check with sho proc "User Identifier:"

     $ @goo$exe:goolog                  ! goosy login
     $ crenv alad /$tmr ! create GOOSY environment ALAD
     $ g                                ! enter GOOSY command prompter
     cre proc gps $gps ! start GOOSY-PAW Server
     init ac /tcp                       !
     start server ! start GOOSY-PAW Server
     conn trans e7kp3a ! connect to SBS

     start ac /res ! to start acquisition
     show ac /rate ! to see rates (every 3 sec)
     show ac ! to stop 3 sec update + full info

     mount tape mka500 a04005 16384 /init/exa                   ! mount tape

     start out file s117_10**.lmd 130000 1000 mka500: /auto     ! start taping
     stop out file /close ! stop taping

Note:
 1. The file names will be s117_10**nnn.lmd with nnn = 001,002,...
    --> GOOSY can't create files along our naming conventions
    --> Files will be renamed later on...
    --> Make sure to choose proper file name prefixes...
 2. The taping software assumes a normal density exabyte, so it stops
    if more than 2.5 Gbyte have been taped. Better than nothing ...
