Each ndb file contains 2 module spectra.
a) To retrieve one single ndb spectrum archived on tape:
Go to the place you want to have the spectrum
Execute : /u/gourio/IndraReduc/public/RetrieveNDB
Usage : RetrieveNDB ring module1 module2
module1 has to be odd, and module2 = module1+1, except for ring 2 : module2 = module1+2
Example :
/u/gourio/IndraReduc/public/RetrieveNDB 5 21 22
It will retrieve the ndb file containing the modules 21 and 22 of ring 5
b) To retrieve a full ring archived on tape:
Go to the place you want to have the spectrum
Execute : /u/gourio/IndraReduc/public/RetrieveNDB_Ring
Usage : RetrieveNDB_ring ring
Example :
/u/gourio/IndraReduc/public/RetrieveNDB_ring 10
It will retrieve the full ring 10, ie 24 modules in 12 ndb files.
c) To construct a new grid :
Thanks to send an E-Mail to D.Gourio@gsi.de for aknowledgement.
d) To save a new grid :
Example for the module 3 of ring 4, give it the name : ring_04_mod_03.grl
Save it in a sub-directory of your HOME called ndb_grid. Example : /u/turzo/ndb_grid/ring_04_mod_03.grl
e) Summary of the spectra and grids already done :
See table below.
Cell with "x" = module not existing.
"KT" means the PID grid will be done by KetelTurzo.
"Done by KT" means the PID grid has been done by KetelTurzo.
"Terminated" means the grids have been cleaned up and the final ASCII file has been created. The ring is ready for PID (with Veda or IDH softwares).
The final ASCII files are in : /u/gourio/IndraReduc/ndb_grid/asc/
f) Selected runs for each ring :
Click on the ring number in the table below.

2- CREATE OF NEW SPECTRA
The spectrum viewer of IPN Orsay
(DP2) uses a special format based on multiple file tree (Bayer representation)
which provides a fast way to access the data. This format is called NDB.
For greater details, see at the IPN orsay : " La
librairie logicielle NDB ".
CreateNDB is a program to read the raw data of the INDRA June
98 campaign and to generate the NDB file. The package is installed
on the Linux cluster of GSI.
