How to setup handling of PDF documents ?
The new gv (Ghostview) 3.5.8 is able to display PostScript as well as PDF documents. What's left is to install gv as the helper application handling PDF documents: 
  --> Options
    --> General Preferences ...
      --> Helpers
          select `application/pdf' line
          --> Edit ...
              click `Application' in `Handle by' frame
              enter `gv %s' in text field
	      --> OK
      --> OK
  --> Options
    --> Save Options

Why is Netscape very slow for documents with many links ?
Netscape can get very slow when documents with a large number of links are displayed. A detailed study is available in a separate document. The fix is to make sure that the VMS virtual I/O cache works, e.g. by making sure that the RMS default buffer size is 32 blocks or less. The netscape command from login_aladin.com takes care of this issue.
