Alpha CLUSTER Changes                                 

We had several changes on the Alpha Cluster:


  THE NODES AXP601 and AXP602 are now FILE SERVERS and NOT FOR PUBLIC USE any   
                                 more.                                          
       PLEASE use other machines for INTERACTIVE and BATCH jobs !!!             


In a few weeks we will get a new Alpha Server 4100, with some CPU's. This
                  will be our new PUBLIC machine.

1. Hardware Changes

   AXP601 and AXP602 are now a SCSI-Cluster with 5 shared SCSI bus and 
   1 shared DSSI bus connected to both machines.
   There will 6 disks installed on every fast SCSI bus and 18 disks at the DSSI.
   ALL User File systems are copied to new disks.
   The SCSI is fast, so we hope that we have now faster access to our Disks.
   Therefore we have configured the two server as pure File-Server without any
   public access.
   We hope that we will get a new Alpha Server 4100 machine in a few weeks.
   This Server will be the new PUBLIC INTERACTIVE Server.


        PLEASE use other machines for INTERACTIVE and BATCH jobs !!!           


 - Node AXP601 and AXP602 are now ONLY File Server without any public access.

 - AXP601 has 1 CPU's with  128.00 Mbyte main memory
 - AXP602 has 1 CPU's with  128.00 Mbyte main memory

 - Node AXP605 is now AXP604.
 - AXP603 and AXP604 have now a shadowed system Disk, separate Page-and Swapfile
   disks and they have some disks connected to a shared DSSI bus.

 - AXP603 has 3 CPU's with  448.00 Mbyte main memory
 - AXP604 has 4 CPU's with 1024.00 Mbyte main memory
  
2. Disk Changes
   We got new disks and we copied many files to that new disks. Below there is a
   disk-change table. The Disk-Label AND DISK LOGICALS DIDN'T change. 
   Too, some disks have now a new Server-Home.
